Of course, we are talking about the following three:
- University of Liverpool. It is actually the newest among the institutions that we are going to talk about here, but probably the most prestigious one. It was established in 1884, but got its royal charter almost 20 years later – in 1903. It is dubbed one of the 6 original red brick civic universities. You can enroll in total 230 first degree courses here, spread among 35 departments. - The John Moores University was established in 1823 as the Liverpool Mechanics’ School of arts. In this respect, it can be considered to be the third oldest university in Britain. Its permanent student population counts on 24 000 people. We leave it to you to imagine how lively, colorful and vibrant the campus is. According to the data released by the university’s administration, more and more people apply every year to it. With the current state of the higher education in the country, this is probably the best sign about the qualities of the John Moores University. There are four faculties there – those of Arts, Professional and Social Studies; Education, Health and Community; Science; Technology and Environment. One last fact – John Moores is considered to be one of the fastest developing universities in the world – a rising star if you will – so there is another reason why you should consider it.
- Liverpool Hope University is the third university in the city. It is the only ecumenical university in Europe at the current moment. As such it has deep roots in the Christian faith. There is a faculty of Arts and Humanities (including a Business school), an Education Faculty, and the faculty of Science with Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences, Department of Geography, Department of Psychology and the School of Health Sciences. Computer sciences are pretty popular and traditionally strong at Hope University and they attract quite a lot of international students too.
